World’s first hip hop hotel, Hotel BPM opens in Brooklyn New York

At RoomCritic we love music almost as much as we love hotels. So when a music hotel opens, that’s pretty big news for us. Hotel BPM has just opened it’s doors for reservations, they are a new hotel in Brooklyn New York by hip hop deejay DJ BIJAL. If your not up on your DJ terminology you may have missed where the hotel got it’s name – BPM stand for ‘beats per minute’ and its the measurement of tempo of a track.

Each of Hotel BPM’s 76 guestrooms feature modern décor and soundproofing throughout, bathrooms have rainfall showers and steam-proof mirrors. The list of guests’ amenities include environmentally-friendly, Gilchrist & Soames BeeKind bath products; 40-inch HDTVs; laptop-size safes; personal Keurig coffeemakers and free Wi-Fi.

The music reference doesn’t stop at the hotel name, all Hotel BPM beds feature Frette linens on “The Sound Sleeper” mattresses, which have been made exclusively for the property. Providing guests with the perfect mix of comfort and support, the 12-inch pillow top mattress helps the body’s “beats per minute” to lower, cushioning pressure points in just the right way to encourage a restful night sleep.

Hotel BPM’s King and Double rooms start at $139 per room, per night (grand opening rates) which is a pretty good rate for New York, even across in Brooklyn. There is a lounge with tables and banquette seating, located just off the lobby, where beverages and light fare, including breakfast are served. A fitness room and guest parking are also on-site.

Expect this hotel to soon become ‘the’ place to stay for lovers of hip hop from all over the world and we’re sure they’d be able to organise one of the key things on our New York to-do list – a hip hop tour of New York.

Once there are over 50+ Instagram photos shared to the #hotelBPM tag on Instagram we’ll feature them on the  RoomCritic Instagram Gallery App on our RoomCritic Facebook page.

For room rates and reservations go to the Hotel BPM website. You’ll also find them on Facebook and Twitter @hotelbpm.

Thanks for your comment. I read your post it’s great. We specialise in hotels and resorts so the post is not quite suitable for our readers. However, next time if you write and photograph the hotels or resorts you stay in on your travels perhaps we could re-post them. RC
