As part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the Crown Riverwalk, situated on the picturesque southern side of Melbourne’s Yarra River, will be transformed into a gourmet picnic ground. Diners will have an exclusive opportunity to sample some of Crown’s most sought after dishes in a relaxed, outdoor setting.

Nobu, The Atlantic, Bistro Guillaume, Mr Hive kitchen & bar, The Merrywell and Number 8 restaurant and wine bar will each create a selection of their finest dishes from Saturday 9 until Monday 11 March 2013. Admission is free. Dishes range from $5 – $15.

A burger and a beer is always a winning combination, especially when created by Grant MacPherson and Sammy D from The Merrywell, fresh from their win of ‘ Burger of the Year 2012’ from The Burger Adventure.  Alternatively, sample a paddock-to-plate creation from John Lawson at Mr Hive kitchen & bar, whilst sipping on Rekorderlig cider and soaking up the sun on the Yarra River.

In keeping with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s earth theme, each chef has worked with their local suppliers, growers and farmers to source the season’s freshest produce.

Event partners Rekorderlig, Matilda Bay, Treasury Wines, San Pellegrino and Coffee Victoria will also take up residency on the Riverwalk, while Jazz bands, roving entertainment and street artists complete the festival vibe.
