RoomCritic Hotel Review | Hotel Condesa DF

Hotel Condesa DF is a boutique design hotel located near the centre of Mexico City in the Downtown neighbourhood of Condesa.

The Condesa neighbourhood is one of the safest areas of Mexico City, we loved walking around the hip area with it’s beautiful tree lined streets, parks and cafés nearby toHotel Condesa DF . Of course, there’s a real colonial feel to the older style architecture with many new modern luxury apartments and houses dotting the streets too. In the evening you’ll feel just as safe, although much quieter at night, there are many restaurants and bars nearby. Monday night is the quietest evening of the week with most local businesses closing early.

There is an understated designer cool about the decor which gives the hotel it’s chic, stylish vibe. Vintage leather furniture mixed perfectly with floral patterns in soft cool colours and polished woodgrain are set off against a mix of bright white and coloured walls. The original 1920’s building exterior is contrasted against the new, architecturally re-designed interior space with an open air courtyard from the ground floor garden restaurant to the rooftop bar.

The breakfast buffet is simple and beautiful, with fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, cheese and meats. Try the granola, it’s awesome. However for a truly memorable breakfast ask for the a la carte menu, just like the mouthwatering mexican dinner menu and room service, you won’t be disappointed.

Although the hotel does not have a pool, it makes up for it with two bars – one located on the ground floor with many private rooms and quiet seating areas, and then there’s the busy young, hip and sceney rooftop bar, a hotspot with the local it crowd. Bring on the margarita’s or try a shot or two the hotels signature Mescal Tequila.

We’ve done our usual RoomCritic 10 point review, read how Hotel Condesa DF faired.
