We asked our Facebook friends what their picks were for the best destination to spend New Year’s Eve. We have given you our suggestions for which hotel to stay at for each city, but you can be certain that their best rooms will already be booked out this year.


We spent New Year’s Eve 2010 at Soho House Berlin, and recommend it highly. It is a private members’ club with 40 hotel rooms ranging in size from “tiny” to “extra-large”. Set over eight floors of a restored Bauhaus building, Soho House Berlin includes a full Cowshed Spa and gym, a rooftop pool, restaurants, bars, a screening room and a private dining area. Destination Guide | A perfect day in Zürich, Switzerland

From those that haven’t been to Zürich, I often hear that it’s expensive, boring and dull, or not worth visiting on a European trip.
I’m not going to lie, it isn’t one of the cheaper cities to visit in Europe. Zürich certainly isn’t the kind of place that wears its charms out in the open – no must see bucket-list landmarks, no super famous museums, no well known cultural activities, nor is it an obvious backpacker destination.
